Gosh. Where do I begin? There is so much that I HATE about this coffeemaker. First, the machine does NOT accept standard coffee filters. The filter basket is a sort of a squashed elliptical cone shape which does not accept standard coffee filters. You MUST use the permanent filter provided. (Which is fine if you want to drink sludgy coffee all day.) Second, the coffee maker cannot be filled if it is on a counter which has cupboards overhead - there isn't enough clearance. That means that one must position the coffeemaker at the front of the counter where the cupboards won't prevent opening of the lid. And you're not supposed to move it once it contains water - so there you are, with valuable counter top space hogged by the coffee maker. Third, the mechanism for taking a cup prior to the end of the cycle doesn't work. No matter how slowly, or how rapidly you remove the carafe, there is always a couple of tablespoons of brewed coffee that ends up pouring onto the hot plate. You end up with a mess every time. Would I recommend this coffeemaker? Not in a million years.
