Would love to give this a good review, but...
...there are just too many things that I can't overlook. My six year old really likes to play this game. It is a free app for the Kindle Fire. The game crashes constantly. It doesn't just crash every now and again. It crashes every couple of mintues! Sometimes after it crashes, you can try to restart the game, but it won't restart the next 20 times you try.
As far as when the game is actually working, it seemed great at first. I helped my six year old with it and then she was easily able to understand what she was supposed to do. You can rescue animals that are sick, hungry, bored, dirty, etc. You need rescue stations for each. Each animals requires a different amount of time to be healed before they can be adopted. Each animal also costs a certain number of coins, or "mini bucks." I would equate the mini bucks to gems in other games we have played. They are very hard to get, or you must buy them.
When we first started to play the game, she could find several animals that were a reasonable amount of coins, and only needed 40 seconds to 8 minutes to be healed. As the game has gone on, it has gotten much more frustrating. At any given time, there are approximately 8 or so animals that need to be rescued. Now, almost all of the animals require mini bucks to bring them into your station. She has played the game for several days and has ONE mini buck. You can buy them for relatively cheap if you are into that sort of thing. I am not going to buy mini bucks for an app for a six year old. That is just my personal preference. So, she spent last evening playing for about an hour and only found ONE animal that she could rescue. I understand that this is how they make their money, but I would rather purchase a paid app that will allow me to actually play the game rather than a free app that nearly requires that I continually buy mini bucks to play the game. I just wish that the game would at least allow her to find more than one pet in an hour!
So, because of the constant crashing, and the frustration of not being able to find a pet to rescue without paying for nearly every pet...I cannot justify a good review on this one. If they could fix the crashing and offer some actual game play, I would rate the game highly. She really likes to play it when it is working correctly.
