I bought this on a whim really because I had been looking for a Bluetooth speaker and it was a lightening deal, so I sprung on it. I got to say I'm VERY impressed with this little gadget. The design of this is great but the bass does vary depending what surface it's on so keep that in mind when you do play music with lots of bass. It sounds fantastic on my kitchen counter but once I move it to a more dense surface the bass isn't quite as strong but it still sounds great. Overall, like I said, i'm very impressed with the sound quality of this little triangular box! I prefer it over the speakers on my tv and it'll be a great addition to use when I skype with my husband overseas, that way the kids will be able to hear him better and I can hear his voice over their excitement. We have a decent sized house and it allows the sound to travel down into the hallway so the range is fantasic. If you're looking for a good speaker i'd recommend this one, especially if you're a newbie at these like I am, you'll be very surprised with the sound quality. I've only had this for a few days so if things change i'll come back with an update but as of now, very happy with the purchase and design of this product. UPDATE 4/30/16 - this speaker has now died on me. I got it in December, wrote the top review and now changed it. Its a great speaker, when it works, but like others have mentioned, it crapped out on me. No damage to it, charge won't hold and constantly disconnect even after its been charged. Will no longer recommend this one.
