I have noticed as time wore on that after filling the top it does not sit correctly into the bottom of the unit. You turn it on and walk away only to find it is not running because the small tab on the bottom has not seated well enough to create the seal necessary for it to start the steam process. So, you have to watch it carefully and adjust it accordingly. Not a big deal at first but it had gotten quite annoying after awhile. The second issue I have for this unit is that the water dissolves before you wake up. It says it last a full night but mine does not. I estimate it loses its capacity under 8 hours. The worst part of this unit is that there is no way to clean the bottom of the inside efficiently (see photo). I have tried soaking it with water and soap, water and vinegar, and adding coarse salt and water and shaking it to cause an abrasion. Nothing works after 4 months. You cannot separate the white plastic bottom from the blue plastic container to clean this unit. I cannot recommend this unit for bedroom (or any) use and will replace it with a second purchase of one I have that is a larger more efficient one I have had for the living room that is easily cleaned and has worked flawlessly. I also cannot recommend buying a humidifier for bedroom use where you cannot turn off the small light. This is usually not stated clearly and only find out with actual use. Even though the light on this unit is very small, I have to turn the front side towards the wall so it does not create a distraction.
