I'm a paying NY Times subscriber, and the app performance on my kindle fire is terrible. You would think getting the formatting correct would be easy, but different paragraphs will repeat in random articles. Imagine you're reading a Kindle book and it would randomly show you a page you read ten minutes ago. Welcome to the future! I'll be ending my NY Times subscription primarily because of this poor support. If you're looking for a good national newspaper app and willing to pay more for a subscription, the Wall Street Journal app on my Kindle Fire is excellent. It's still not perfect but it does let you download today's issue for offline reading. Plus it does not repeat random bits of text from the article you're reading! Amazing what a concept!
