Updated -5/10/20 - At just under 3 months old, the higher tower snapped off this morning as my 10 month old kitten went to jump off. The sudden loss of footing caused him to fall. The tower turned out to be attached to the base by four little staples that ripped free. I'm lucky Trey wasn't hurt, but the fall and the crash of the tower scared him. I've had other cat towers that lasted for years under the use of huge cats. Naturally, the return window is closed. Update 6/22/20 - The other tower has now snapped off. This thing is junk. I should have gone with a different brand. I've never lost even one tower before. Even when I had 20+ cats playing on it. I love the finished product, but it's a nightmare to assemble. I've had around a dozen towers over the years, so I know what I'm doing, but this was unnecessarily difficult to build. First of all, the directions tell you that you have different size screws, but each picture is of the same screw. It was easy to figure out that 25 of them were the same so they are all of the U's, but there were two that were quite different in length, but the drawing has them the same size. It was trial and error. Also, the cute little houses would make a good torture device for the CIA. They arrive squished flat, but you need to cram little supports into them to make the house stay open. There is almost no wiggle room, so aligning the holes in the ceiling/floor with the holes in the supports takes a LOT of patience. I finally got a method down where I used the long end of the provided allen wrench to match the holes since it's easier to maneuver, then I carefully pulled that out and swapped it with the screw. There was also one missing piece, which was the a little clip that attaches the hammock to the floor above. Speaking of which, the cords are way too long, so you'll need to shorten them. I found the best way to open the clip far enough to get it attached correctly was to use needle nose pliers. In the end, it looks great seems to be very sturdy. There was also a step missing from the directions. Before beginning, put your cats/kittens in another room. Mine kept trying to 'help'.
