After having used an Aerogarden Pro 200 series 7-pod for two years, I opted to purchase this 3-pod Aerogarden for my mother. Not only is the water pump replaced with a simple air pump that bubbles the water, but it doesn't even work properly! The air bubbles cause the water to crust up (from the nutrients I assume)around the entire rim and the flap where you can refill water. It looks HORRIBLE. Not only that, the light was weak, the plants had a hard time growing, even sitting right next to a window. Only one of the 2 seed kits included actually sprouted. And on top of that, the LED light to indicate when to add nutrients is so dim you can't even see it without walking up and directly looking at it. And I see there's some sort of clear plastic piece that I assume tells you when to add water, never did figure out how that worked.... Overall, its an extremely low-price pure crap knockoff aerogarden. Do yourself a favor, buy a real one (6 pod or 7 pod) that actually runs water through the entire root system of the plants, not these crappy 3pod ones that use nothing more than a glorified fish aerator pump that does absolutely nothing to circulate the water. Ultimately, this 3pod garden was only used for about 6 months before it was tossed in the trash, not even worth selling to someone else.
