Be aware... sterling silver does not mean that the item itself is real silver- just that it's been coated. I do not believe the posts have been coated, because they are turning black and hurting my ear. I have a nickel allergy and cannot wear cheap jewelry because it tarnishes and creates painful inflammation. I am currently letting my ears 'rest' for a few days and ordering something more expensive to ensure it is actually hypoallergenic. The listing indicates that the entire earring is sterling silver coated (post and stud), but the post is definitely not OR the coating is so thin that it doesn't last. I would have been better off applying the cost of these earrings to a pair of better quality.
