Tired of paying for Lactaid I decided to try this NOW brand instead. I dutifully read reviews and, pleased with what I saw, I ordered the product. I went to have a milkshake, took two of the NOW Dairy Digest Complete, as per the directions, then enjoyed the shake. Some 20-40 munites later the old familiar cramps started and soon I was doubled over in pain, which is exactly what happens when I consume dairy without a supplement to break down the lactose sugar. It had been many years since experiencing this because I am careful and believed, from what I read, the NOW product would work. Nothing doing. Buyer Beware: This is not a panacea for lactose intolerant folks; I say this only to potentially save you from what I went through, paying for a product that did not work in the least, ruining an otherwise great afternoon.
