Death Hut: The Silent Killer
I would give it a zero, or negative stars if I could. This product should not even be sold on the market, it should be banned. How many more birds need to die before this product is removed? How can the producers of these things sleep at night knowing they are killing birds slowly. Many owners do not even know of the hazards unless they are in contact with other owners. PLEASE research every new toy before introducing it into the cage and to your bird(s). My peach faced lovebird died this morning after a seizure because of "Happy Huts". She would caress the hut with her beak and apparently accidentally swallowed some of the fibers. The vet told me that the fibers had been accumulating in her crop for years (almost 6, these huts kill this quickly), and that her body attempted to digest it by pushing it into the intestines, rupturing them, and causing a hemorrhage that killed her. Do NOT buy these. They are not safe for birds, in particular those who chew them. I had no idea they were not safe at the time and assumed the pet stores only sold things that were safe for birds. Be careful because sometimes the pet shops do not have your pets' best interests in mind.
