I mean listen, if you don't know much about the world that Tolkien created and maybe have only ever watched the movies, but never read the books, this might be a good show. But if you're a fan of the expansive universe that Tolkien created, then you are very aware of the fact that the Hobbit and TLOTR is essentially a love letter to the lore, history, mythology and culture of the country and surrounding lands that he was born and raised in. I'm not seeing anything here that makes me think this is related to the world that Tolkien created. it's visually stunning however. I give it two stars for that reason.
