It said that the blades last 1 year. I have a light beard, but the blades are dull in under 4 months. At $35 per set,I an rebuying the razor once a year (the same concept as printer ink: sell the printer cheap and make up for it in unreasonably expense ink or, in this case, blades). The razor does not tell you when the battery is getting low; it just stops in the middle of a shave. That would not be bad except it does not run when plugged in, so when it runs out of juice, you have to wait a couple of minutes for it to get a minimum charge so you can finish shaving. I am 71 years old and have been using a Norelco razor since I was 19. This was my last one. Norelco has gone straight downhill since Philips took over...not exactly a surprise. I have a Philips tv also.
