Wow, what a disappointment! We previously had a Scooba that we used for 7+ years until it finally died and didn’t realize that iRobot no longer manufactures that line of product. Because we were so happy with the Scooba, we thought we’d give the Braava a try. Sadly, the Braava is basically a robotic Swiffer. If your floors are already clean and you want routine touch-ups, then this probably will work. Also, it seems to help if you have a rectangular kitchen...without a table. If you’re like us with young kids (read = crumbs everywhere), a kitchen table with booster seats, and an island that the navigation system doesn’t like, then this mop won’t cut it. The Scooba would vacuum the crumbs, spray clean solution, brush scrub the area, then suction & squeegee the path of the dirty water, and that’s where Braava just doesn’t match up with just a damp mop cloth pushing debris around. Also, it seems like the cleaning pattern of the Braava isn’t nearly as effective as the Scooba. The Scooba would take about 45mins to clean our ENTIRE kitchen, and I’ve just watched the Braava going back and forth in the same area, ~1/4 of the kitchen, for 45mins. Also, the Braava comes with a Navigation Cube and it still can’t seem to figure out where to clean (the Scooba had no problem, even without a Navigation Cube). Sadly, because iRobot no longer makes Scoobas, we just had to buy a used one on an online auction site.
