After looking at various options for an electric bug zapper, I decided on the Executioner Pro. The many positive ratings, higher price ($29.99), and higher voltage all seemed to point to a great product. I ordered one in January and LOVED IT when it arrived! It zaps bugs with a large blue spark and loud pop, which is most satisfying. However, after a few months it stopped zapping. It still had some electricity and sometimes could "cook" the insects, but no zap, no flash, no pop. I took it apart to see if there was something that could easily be fixed, but everything appeared in order. I broke the handle while dismantling it, so I could not return it and ordered another one for another $30 in August. The new Executioner Pro arrived and performed great! I was back in action! The flies and mosquitoes were popping and dropping! Then, after 31 days, the same problem happened - the wires have a little bit of electricity, but no more zapping. I tried to return it via Amazon, but was literally one day past there return policy. The I checked the website of the seller (http://www.theexecutioner.co.uk/) and called the telephone number listed there, only to find it was DISCONNECTED! So, $60 gone, no one left to honor the warranty promised on the package, and more garbage goes into the landfill. I will not be ordering a third one. Note that the positive reviews are from people who first use the zapper. If they came back after a few months, I'll bet most of those 5 star ratings will fall to 1 star!! You have been warned. btw - I love the idea of a working bug zapper. If anyone knows of one that has worked at least, say one year, please let me know!
