So I actually compost. These are not compostable. If you’re buying them and planning on composting them, they’ve been in my composter for over a year and no sign of decay. I had to pick through my compost to remove them and throw away. And no, they will not decompose at the dump. These are either just plastic, or some kind of material that will break down in maybe 20 years. Everybody seems happy that these are sturdy but that’s because they are basically plastic straws. These will not help the environment, don’t fool yourself or ruin your compost, get some reusable glass or metal straws instead.
