★★☆☆☆
Dremel, shame on you.
OK, they don't call it a drill press, but it looks enough like one that you might expect it to be one. If you buy it with that in mind, you'll be sorely disappointed, like me. I'll take the hit, cause I didn't read enough reviews to know that it's not built well enough for even imprecise work. Too much plastic where metal should have been used, such as the attachment of the Dremel to the device with a plastic nut, for cryin' out loud! Mine is attached to a brand new Dremel 4000. As the drill bit travels up and down from top to bottom, there is 1/8" of LATERAL travel. Not only does this make it hard to hit a specific spot with the bit, it results in lots of vibration of the entire set up when the bit contacts the wood. Not comforting when dealing with these high RPMs. This kind of disregard for precision and quality is pesent also in their "vise." Dremel makes a fine rotary tool. If they aren't interested in offering quality accessories for it, even at a higher price, I hope someone else will fill that gap. If that's alresdy happened, I'd sure like to hear about it. I'm giving it two stars only because it does actually hold the tool. Not very securely, but as well as cheap plastic is able to.
