I’d given up on Scarpetta years ago. Lazy writing, ridiculous story lines. But the great reviews on this site of this new book convinced me to try again. Alas, nothing has changed. I got so frustrated with the writing that I’d change up the word usage to myself just to make it through the paragraphs. Where on earth is Cornwell’s editor? Always amazing to me when these mass-fiction writers can put out this kind of stuff that no aspiring writer could ever get away with putting out. I’m done now and forever.
