The controller for this scooter has a known defect that I found out about after receiving mine, but is well documented online if you do a bit of digging. Going over 13mph and using either the motors regeneration or electric brake causes a resistor in the control board to short out and turn the scooter off. I've owned a few different e-scooters and ridden them all over Seattle as a last mile mode of transportation, while ridding this scooter down a small hill I hit the electric brake to slow down for a stop sign and the scooter shut down causing panic while I pressed on the back brake as hard as I could in order not to slam into the back of a car at the stop sign quickly approaching. It's only a matter of time before you will need to stop quickly while riding an e-scooter in the city whether someone steps off a curb without looking or a car pulls out in front of you, if the braking system fails in that moment it could be deadly. I highly recommend no one purchases this scooter either on amazon or from the company.
