In the past 2 weeks I've replaced 4 Cisco routers that were "fried" while being hooked up to these APC devices. When hooked up to an ethernet cable tester all APC devices show the same result - faulty on wires 4, 5, 7, and 8. To make matters worse, I found out that about a year ago a previous employee filed a warranty claim and after jumping through their hoops, APC said they would only honor 1 warranty claim for our company....for LIFE! Doesn't help us when we've purchased over 100 of these! We bought these after losing 10 routers (thanks cable modems for passing voltage over ethernet). Since using the product we've lost at least 10 more! Very disappointing when they advertise: "Data-line Protection Protection of data lines (Ethernet, Coaxial and Phone lines) ensures complete protection of your equipment from surges. It is very important to protect your equipment from "back door" surges traveling through data lines, as they can be as damaging to your equipment as surges traveling over power lines." I guess for $26 we shouldn't have expected too much?
