I used with a weak bleach solution (1 tablespoon Clorox per gallon of water) to disinfect kitchen countertops. After several weeks of use, I noticed that the first few squirts of solution were reddish in color. I suspected that these must use a metal spring. This was confirmed after disassembling. The photo also shows that the lid was cracked. This was not the first cracked lit that I've had.
