Kaputt after 1 year and no major use
One fine day my 160 gb classic iPod stopped showing on iTunes. So I took it to the nearest Apple store hoping to fix the problem. There the iPod "guru" looked at it, and after 15 min, came back telling me (quote): "I have bad news and good news; the bad news is that, despite our efforts, we can't fix your iPod; the good news is that if you want to get a new one, we'll give you 10% today". WHAAAAT!! I have roughly 300 songs in it only, it has always been sitting in my Bose dock station, save for a couple of walks where I took it with me (no running or any other major movement that could have destabilize the hard drive). I am really disappointed. I though Apple would stand behind their products. I have a 7 year old 40 gb iPod that I gave to my daughter, and, regretfully, it works MUCH better than the modern iPods. I will probably get another iPod, since my entire music library is in Apple format and I like the look and accessories of Apple products. However, I am not expecting it to last long. Another disposable electronic product. This time, coming from Apple instead of Microsoft...Sad, sad, sad...
