My experience with this product is a bit worrisome. It claims to not have a rebound effect, but it most certainly did with me. I used one drop in each eye in the morning and by say, 3:00, I was in a burning, redness agony. I tried this product on a day when my eyes were not bloodshot. There was no overall redness. They were just a little irritated, so since I had just received the product, I wanted to see if it really "whitened" the eyes again. Well it DOES whiten the eyes, quite well in regard to any red blood vessels but not any areas where you might have sun / tanning booth damage (brownish-yellow) patches. There was a little discomfort at first, and I did not put my contacts in at all that day. I just wore my glasses because this product had a major drying effect for me. I also had a mild headache for hours. After about 5-6 hours, the whitening effect was completely gone, and my eyes looked completely red which was not even how they looked to begin with that morning. So, it was definitely worse. My eyes felt very tired, scratchy and extremely dry as the evening wore on and I was attempting to watch some old movies. It was tough keeping my eyes open due to the discomfort. So yes, I think the rebound effect with this product was severe for me. True, using Visine and other typical redness relieving drops do not work as well at whitening as this product, but those old drops never gave me a worse-than-before result/ rebound effect. There is no way in heck I could wear contacts with this product during or after use due to the dryness. (Just for point of reference: I don't have severely dry eyes, but only need rewetting drops every now and then after hours of contact lense wear and lots of computer use or grading or papers.) If your eyes don't have a dryness issue to begin with, this might work for you with no side effects. It appears to have worked for many others on here. I cannot explain the serious rebound effect I experienced. I just wanted to contribute my honest experience because I am a little concerned that I am still experiencing side effects so many hours after one use. Yes, this does whiten very well, but even now after more than 24 hours use of only one drop per eye, I have overall redness which I never have, and major dryness so cannot insert contacts. I just pray this is not going to be a permanent side effect from only having used the product one time. I did not read any kind of warning of this, and with the touted claim of no rebound redness, I certainly did not feel that I was forewarned of the effect I am still experiencing over 24 hours later.
