I had been using TurboTax (Basic or Deluxe) since 1994, and I had been recommending it to my friends. That's history. This year, TurboTax now requires Premier (at $90) for common forms like Schedule D for sale of stocks. So, I'm going to finally convert to H&R Block ($19.95/$44.95) or TaxACT ($12.99), and I'm never coming back. Both of these programs get great reviews but I had been happy with TurboTax. The huge price difference is now enough to overcome the inertia that kept me in the fold. Intuit just got a little too greedy.
