This product worked great approximately twice. The third time I used it it seemed to be getting unusually hot so I was using it on the “low” setting. The handle got so warm I could not hold it anymore and I unplugged it. When I plugged it back in and turned it on again to the low setting I noticed blue sparks and popping/smoke inside of the top where the bristles are. Obviously I unplugged it immediately and upon further inspection noticed the device had become so hot it melted some of the bristles. I can only imagine what kind of damage it was doing to my hair 😭. Like I mentioned this was only my third time using the product so I didn’t realize immediately that it wasn’t normal for it to get that hot. I had it on for about 2 minutes at a time since I was drying my hair in sections, so I’m sure it wasn’t caused by prolonged use. It’s disappointing because I was actually very happy with how easy it was to use and maybe just got a defective model.
