Below the update is my original rating ( I gave five stars) After one year, I decided to part with this mattress. It was much too soft, and after several months I started having intense back pains. This mattress was getting softer and softer. It did not offer any back support, and turning was a nightmare - Many years ago, I was caught in the marshland and every night lying in bed and trying to turn on my side I recalled this " trapped " feeling. I am a fairly athletic woman, and I am not overweight - but I was just sinking into this mattress. I tried the different supports under it (a box spring, a Zinus board/slats, and a thick piece of plywood). I even put this matters on the floor - nothing helped, I was "sinking in" and was not able to turn. After I purchased the new mattress - my back pain simply disappeared. For me, this is enough proof that the reason for my back pain was this soft ( not supportive) matters. Since one year past from the date of purchase- I had to dispose of the mattress. I took off the thick cover with the Amazon logo and discovered that the material that covers foam parts of the mattress has most likely some fiberglass in it. I thought this kind of fabric before - it is a net-like fabric ( much like a cheesecloth) with interwoven thin ( white) threads that resemble fiberglass. It is probably done for the fire safety reasons - but I am not sure this netting with fiberglass should be on mattress. Now I understand the reasons behind a thick outside cover. I do not think I had any contact with fiberglass threads - but I wish I knew it earlier. This was my original 5 stars review---- So far (1 day), I love it. My Tempurpedic is 15 years old, and it was time for a new mattress. I was looking into the different brands, and out of nowhere, I learned that Amazon is offering its brand.​ I was very skeptical but decided to try it. So far, I love the AmazonBasics Memory Foam Mattress. The mattress is soft but supportive. I will be updating this review with new findings in a week or so. The first day on the mattress (after leaving it for 72 hours as per instruction), I just love this bed.
