I bought a pack of agar plates and sterile swabs to test the effect of this product’s UV light on surfaces. I followed all the instructions for the wand. The first culture I ran on carpet and both cultures grew the same amount of bacteria. The light does not penetrate adequately into the fibers to make a difference. The culture pictured here was off a keyboard. There is a slight difference after 48 hours, less growth after UV, but not enough to make a worthwhile difference. (I’m a healthcare provider with experience in micro and running cultures).
