I wasn't scared about the other reviews saying that this coir is filled with salt, as I'm not sure if the other reviewers are distinguishing between sodium chloride and other dissolved solids (like potassium, which my bananas can't get enough of) when they claim they measured a high ppm (As for me, I measured 500 ppm after one rinse). At first, my plants grew just fine with no apparent signs of shock. However, 2 weeks after repotting using this coir, my plant was crawling with insect larvae. I might saved a few bucks buying this brand, but I'll spend whatever you saved (or more) managing my new found insect problem. On top of that, there was a lot of dust amongst the fibers that I'm used to, and there were even pieces of rope mixed in. Next time, I will spend a few more dollars on a higher quality brand. I do not recommend this product.
