Foolishly, I failed to heed warnings cited in previous reviews regarding the iOttie leaving a visible residue on a car's dashboard. I affixed the sticky pad for the device to my dashboard and left it on for six days; the car was primarily parked in the shade. When I removed the sticky pad on the seventh day, it left a visible residue and impression/indentation on the dashboard. I tried various vinyl cleaners and restorers -- with no success. Searching the Web for solutions suggested using Goo Gone Gel Remover. The GGGR removed the residue, but if you try this, run a test patch on your car to make sure that it doesn't strip the color. While the GGGR removed the adhesive, the impression/indentation made by the iOttie remains as of this review. Also, the adhesive in the sticky pad seems to have removed some of the sheen that was on the dashboard prior to installing the sticky pad; I don't believe that this occurred as a result of using the GGGR. In fact, the iOttie safely held my cell phone. However, if you are concerned about your dashboard, you will need to afix the device to the windshield of your car -- or by a different type of device.
