Get ready for the "Up-Sell" by 'AliveCor'
I have used an Omron 10 (model BP786) for many years.
I have been very happy with this machine, and was intrigued when I saw this new model BP7900 with an EKG feature.
A couple of weeks ago I purchased the 'KardiaMobile' device (also from Amazon) and was very surprised and angry because the software company 'AliveCor' was "Up-Selling" their services with monthly fees, and will only provide their 'services' if you agree to send your medical data outside the US.
I returned the 'KardiMobile' device to Amazon.
During the return process, the Omron 10 Model BP7900 caught my eye.
Being an Omron 10 customer for many years I was instantly a buyer.
The new model arrived yesterday, and lo-and-behold I found that on the side of the box was printed "EKG Software & Services Powered by AliveCor".
This was a bad feeling, but I persisted because of my trust in the Omron name.
BUT, I was back where I started with the "Up-Selling" of 'AliveCor' services. Not only that, you MUST agree to sending your medical data outside the US, BEFORE you can open an account.
They then trap you into taking your "first" EKG to be sent off into the big unknown (with your credit card details), and the results will be returned with the offer of monthly billing.
AND so on...
AND so on...
AND so on...
WARNING! You have been WARNED!
ADDITIONALLY, the Amazon website description does NOT show any association to 'AliveCor'.
DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EKG FEATURE - IT WILL COST YOU MORE!
