Cheap cost-cutting measures are not just damaging, it's embarrassing to watch as well
It looks beautiful, and out of the box, works beautifully. But three months after purchase, simply stopped working. I tried contacting AOC customer care for warranty support, but it looks like they have outsourced their customer care to some far eastern country that's running a cut-rate operation: I rarely got anyone on the phone, and when I did, was either simply transferred on to the 'right department' (which never answered), or even told once that 'there's nobody here who can help you right now'.
Overall, it was a very shabby way to run customer care, especially warranty claims. I complained to Amazon and they accepted a return for that monitor. I doubt others would be so lucky, so I'd steer clear of this manufacturer from now on.
Such an expensive monitor fully deserves full warranty support, and AOC's cheap antics just turned me off their products.
Update: After dropping the ball massively on Warranty support, and after Amazon accepted the return for them, AOC actually had the gall to charge me a restocking fee of $219.80. I spoke to Amazon and they immediately refunded that amount. All I can say is, avoid these people like the plague. Neither they, nor their monitor is worth it. Spend the extra $200 on someone else, who'll actually turn to you when you call after taking your money.
