I bought this to scan photos that are in photo albums. I did not test it on photos in the tray or on slides/negatives. The results were not good. The edges were very dark, and the "scan" was fuzzy. I put scan in quotes because it is not really scanning the image, it is a digital camera mounted in a light box so it is actually taking a picture of the picture. Even so, when I take a picture with my iPhone it gives me a better quality shot with more even lighting and less distortion. The image is also skewed with the bottom being more narrow than the top. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because it is better than nothing if you have images that were glued and impossible to remove from an album and you don't have time or ability to maneuver a giant album onto a flatbed at crazy angles for the time it takes to scan each image. Also, the price is pretty low. I am going to return it and keep scanning the old fashioned way. In the image, you can see the difference between the scanners/cameras that I tested. I would have paid $500+ for a unit that fixed that issues that I have listed.
