★☆☆☆☆
Fort Magic is unrealistic.
Biggest downfalls of the product: It takes imagination. Who has that these days? Should we encourage such things? It makes children do math. Who wants to force our kids to count and sort? Without a computer!! Who does that? It makes children analyze how structures are built. What do you mean you can't build from the top down, or just the side that I want to build and it won't stand up? Logic, reason, order? Just another scam to help children understand the world around them. Forget teaching them about gravity. It takes up too much space. I hate that my living room floor must be clean and cleared of all of their other toys prior to building. One time I had an igloo in my living room for a week, that my children decided to camp out in, because they were so proud of their fort. I can do the same thing with the couch cushions, but I would rather they not, cause that would mean I have to clean out under the couch too.... I have to purchase my own fabric. Actually, I got lucky on this one because I have extra flat sheets that are being stored away, and twin size flat sheets just happen to be the right size for 80% of everything we built. And because I never have any extra blankets around, because I need those to stay on the beds and NEVER be used. Ever. It doesn't look like the pictures either, because I won't buy spandex fabric for my kids. Who cares that they are just happy because they built it themselves. That's another thing, pride that they built something. That is for people who let their kids play with legos. And those little fabric clips? I had to put them in a ziploc bag to keep them from going everywhere. Oh the horror. And the cost. Oh my gosh. Super expensive. I could totally just curve those pieces myself to the perfect arc with my hair dryer and some manly strength. I may be too exhausted after having to spend hours in home depot trying to find all of the parts. Forget that they offer gift cards that family and friends could purchase towards buying a set, say for birthday or Christmas. How rude. Really though, this is for those who read the negative comments to find the fault in the product. I truly give this product 5 stars. Worth every penny, because it is quality, and my kids love it. And it is timeless. Little kids love it just as much as the big kids do. And they can build it, and keep it up for a week and play with it. I don't need a play house, this covers it, and a ship, and rockets, and igloos and whatever they want to build. And they learn from each other when they play together, they help each other out. All in all, and amazing toy.
