Popping/Cracking Oversight Issue more common than you think...
I'm not going to address the TV quality other than the major issue - the popping/cracking sound that occurs every 30 seconds-to-a-minute for a while after turning on and off the TV. Other reviews cover the TV build, picture/sound/etc.
This is really a great TV, but it could be so much better if Samsung's quality control/engineering dept./whomever actually took the time to ensure the quality of the work stood up to Samsung's reputation and this is coming from a longtime Samsung customer with three previous TVs from them. I STRONGLY advise any potential customers to do research on Samsung TV's "popping/cracking" issue that seems to plague A LOT of their 2018 model television sets. After close to a week of owning the TV with no issue, when the television is powered on, a popping sound comes from the HDMI/Optic Input Panel on the back of the television set.
This sound occurs once every 30-60 seconds for about an hour or so when the TV first turns on. It settles down (and is slightly lower in volume) after that and the duration of time increase (once every 20 min/30 min/an hour, etc.) and then it occurs again for a little while when the TV has been turned off. I have tried EVERY recommended solution by other customers (replacing HDMI and Optic cords with new one, trying a sound-bar, unplugging all cords and hearing if it's there, etc.). It's definitely NOT the speakers themselves...it's the internal components. RTINGS.com states they believe it's from the expansion and compression of the plastic and metal when the TV turns on, warms up, and then cools back down again. However, the fact that the "clicking" can be heard for SUCH a long time and can be heard even over the sound of anything you have on TV is inexcusable.
This review is intended to warn potential buyers of this issue, which I strongly encourage people to do research on. They have released a "firmware update" (v12.30) which addresses the issue on SOME of their TV models, but some folks have stated it doesn't work. I have spoken to Samsung customer service who were extremely polite and respectful, but they weren't able to define what the issue was nor what their technicians were doing for it. I've chosen to return the TV and go with another brand. This is unfortunately such a minor issue that I find hard-to-believe that Samsung would overlook. I also write this in favor that Samsung can FIX the issue and encourage them to never let something so MINOR (yet infuriatingly ANNOYING) pass their design and quality control again.
