These things are garbage. I got one to replace what I thought was a malfunctioning unit in my master bedroom. The dumb thing kept going off early in the morning for no reason. Bought a new one only to have the same problem. Turns out that simply having a door to the deck open or a window open causes these retarded units to go off. The only possible reason I’ve found is humidity. I live in a normally extremely dry area. If we even see a hint of rain or overcast, my stupid “fire alarm” goes off and wakes the whole household at 3:30 in the morning to make sure they all know I had the audacity to open my door to my deck. I cannot count the times I’ve been woke from peaceful slumber by this piece of garbage. Going off to warn me of slight moisture in the air over 45%. I’ve had to find a step ladder and rip the thing from the ceiling and pull the battery to shut it up. It wouldn’t be so bad if that was the end of it but no, it’s connected to several of its brothers who have to join in the screaming funfest even when I’ve removed the culprit from the ceiling. As soon as I find a replacement I’m going to take these things into the backyard and finally give them an actual fire to detect!
