Weaker than old Kitchen Aid
Well, it works...but not as good as our prior 10 yr old Kitchen Aid. My wife had an older Kitchen Aid 11 cup. She cans/bottles/processes alot of food so she used it alot. The Kitchen Aid lasted probably 10 years plus and then the bowl broke last week and there is no replacement part so we had to get something new...so based on reviews we picked this Cuisinart 11 cup. One of the items my wife cans alot of are tomatoes that she uses in various recipes throughout the year. This was the first item she processed with the new Cuisinart. By her report it took approximately 4 times as long to process the stewed tomatoes with this new Cuisinart vs her old Kitchen Aid...she said the motor strength appeared to be much weaker in terms of results/time it took to process this particular tomato item. This is only a single item to be fair but....the result is still the result...much slower. After reading all the positive reviews we choose the Cuisinart but my wife is less than thrilled. I have no idea if the new Kitchen Aid has a weaker motor now too but of course it is a pain to pack all the Cuisinart and its parts back up and pay for return shipping.
As I was finishing this review I just read some of the new Kitchen Aid reviews for their 11 cup. Some complaints of weak motor and less than optimal function. Seems like everyone is now stuck with subpar performance out of these newer models.
Seems like an opportunity for someone to produce a truly superior market and clean up with a processor that actually has the power to do what it says it is supposed to do.
