Neat design, big chemical warning tag
Mixed feelings about this. We got the 4-person version. It's definitely the easiest tent ever to set up, a little tricky at first to break down but quick once you do it one or two times. I like the “skylight”, and it's long enough for a tall person to sleep comfortably. It's narrow though, so I can't imagine 4 or even 3 people sleeping comfortably in this thing.
So here's the big issues:
1) The door zipper is really flimsy, and felt like it could tear easily, especially once the tent is staked down and occupied.
2) It folds up into a massive 3' wide bag, which is thin/lightweight so not a big deal for weight, but may pose a storage or portability issue for some...definitely better for casual car campers vs. trying to backpack that thing anywhere.
3) There is a gigantic warning tag regarding the flame retardants used on the fabric. Did some digging to assess actual risk, and there are reported issues with vapor inhalation / transference onto skin when sleeping in / assembling tents that use those chemicals in the fabric, and recommendations to wear gloves when assembling and avoid using the rain fly. Since our other tent doesn't have the sketch chemicals on it we're going to stick with that model.
If you do decide to get this tent, quick tip: take care if you're opening it indoors or with people standing nearby - it can pop up FAST, and when I pulled it out of the carrying bag in our living room it exploded from a flat circle to a 9' tent pretty much instantly. I'd thought I had enough space for it and was mentally prepared, but still pretty sure I peed my pants a little in the commotion.
