Edit: WOW. I ordered a replacement in hopes that my blind optimism would be enough, but it has the exact same problem and does not stay on. Avoid, avoid, avoid. It's life in the time of the coronavirus and we're all desperate for haircuts - my dog included. Here I am, thinking I have found the holy grail of dog clippers. Quiet, easy to use, multiple guards, rechargeable. It said extended delivery times when I ordered, but that didn't matter to me. I was just excited to know that one day in the near distant future, I'd see the shaggy rug at my feet turn back into a real dog and we'd some sense of pandemic normalcy. I was willing to wait. The clippers arrived. "Today's the day, little rug!" A tuft of the thick, tangled carpet raised up, presumably what was an ear pre-pandemic, and audibly sighed at me. We opened the box and ooohed and ahhhed and plugged in the clippers and waited for a full charge. But the charge never came. The light switched. It showed charged. You'd flip the switch, it'd vibrate, and then... Nothing. On. Buzzbuzzbu---. Dead. It was a brief flash of hope. Almost as if maybe I was just doing something wrong, as if maybe I could course correct. Flip again. On. Buzzbuzzbu--. Dead. I tried again. Maybe it was the internal battery connector somehow. I held it tight, flipped the switch, buzzbuzzbuzzbuzz - it's on! My grasp loosened thinking I had solved my problem. Buzzbuzzbu--. Dead. Again. I quietly put everything back in the box and tried to hide my disappointment. The rug reached out a thick tendril and rested its once-paw on my arm. "I'm sorry," I mumbled, "I swear to you, one day, you'll be a dog again. Just not today." So here we are now. The rug and I looking at a future where we remain forever hopeful the day will come for society to be restored. But until then, all we have is a box wrapped around disappointment, packaged in a lie. So to all of you - be well. Stay safe. Don't buy these clippers.
