I've owned 4 of these vacuums. After a year or so, expect the hose inside base to break and unit becomes useless. This is not why so low rating. I recently did purchase my 5th one as I have loved my past ones when they did work. The new one (SV1106) had practically no power at all compared to earlier ones (SV1100). I returned and exchanged as I thought was just a defect. New one, same thing, no power compared to older model. Ultimately, I discovered Shark lowered the battery and motor from a 14 volt to a 10 volt without changing the packaging. Tricky, tricky Shark... Although I did love my earlier freestyle, the new version (SV1106) doesn't cut the mustard, especially with animals. Disappoint, I had to return. The Bottom Line: my first had led lights, then 14 volts w/o lights, now 10 volts no lights or power. Way to go Shark!
