We've had this a little over 6 months, and at first it was an OK toaster. It looked nice and then did a reasonable job toasting. To me it toasted things a little light even on the darkest setting, so I found myself often putting things back in for bit longer. Then this morning a few minutes after my wife toasted an English muffin I noticed a burning smell. I looked over and the toaster was on and was unbelievably hot! The lever was up and the cancel button didn't even work - the toaster had a mind of its own! I had to unplug it and run it outside. A few minutes more and I'm sure we would have been looking at a fire. I will definitely be emailing the manufacturer about this. PROS: - Price - Looks great CONS: - Turns on by itself! - Even on darkest setting it toasts too light - No way of knowing if the bagel or frozen settings are on. There are just buttons. Did you press it right? No way to know. - The slots are plenty wide, but to me are not long enough. A slice of anything other than basic white bread is a tight squeeze length-wise.
