The unit would not let the date feature for the slides to be set earlier than the year 2000. This is helpful in storing the picture dates for proper placement in an image library. The date setting screen allowed dates before 2000, but when the date was saved, it was reset to the year 2000 if the year 1999 or earlier was used. If a date was after 2000 was used, the date did save the correct year, such as 2005. I had bought this to archive older slides. I contacted the Kodak support site, and received an email that stated that the recent batch of HW all had this problem and they instructed me to return the item to the seller.
