I have many standard salt lamps but decided to try this model. Seven months later, the bulb it came with burned out, and when I pulled out the salt rocks to change it, I discovered the "protective" plastic cover over the bulb has melted and burned (see picture). Not only can I not change the bulb on this expensive lamp, I discover it is a huge fire hazard. I would NOT buy a model like this again. I have submitted a complaint to levoit.
