WHEN will I learn!!??
I searched and researched air fryers for weeks! I read review after review. I ALWAYS read 1, 2 and 3 star reviews. Most of the time I can discard most of them due to pickiness or some mundane reason they were unhappy. I should not have done that this time! LISTEN TO ME AND I WILL SAVE YOU THE AGGRAVATION. First unit arrived with HUGE dented side. Sent back 20 min after opening. Was sent replacement within a day. Second one arrived just fine. There are a slew of accessories, pans, cages, bars, components and I mean like 8 or more things! The unit itself it beautiful, feels well made and looked great on my counter. THEN I sat down to read the instruction book. What a joke. There are 2 and 1/2 pages of what not to do with this machine. Almost ALL are common sense, but I assume for liability reasons they just kept going. Then I get to the one little line that caused me the most concern. It says DO NOT PUT THIS UNIT UNDER A CABINET ON A COUNTERTOP. What?! My kitchen, and I am only speaking for myself, has no countertops that do not have cabinets above them. I have an island, but I am not moving that thing every time I want to cook and plugging it into a weird location. What a pain in the eye for starters! Then I see that it says that the unit MUST be unplugged from the wall after each use. So how in the hell or why do you set the time? As my blood begins to boil, I realize that there ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS AT ALL for how to put ANY of the accessories into the oven. And I mean, the crumb tray, the wire rack, the fryer basket, the easy stuff. No explanation, only a weird picture that you cannot tell which piece is what and where it should go. You will know what I mean if you buy one and realize that the two burner elements on the bottom actually make no sense because you don't know if you should cover them with one of the trays or the crumb tray, or what?! Oh and did I mention that there are also NO INSTRUCTIONS for how to install the rotisserie pieces, what they consist of, where they go, where the wire round basket thing goes, or all the long metal sticks that are included. WHAT are these and where and how do they attach? I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO GO TO YOUTUBE, PINTEREST OR SOME OTHER AREA OF THE BOWELS OF THE INTERNET TO LOOK FOR THIS CRAP! Send me a detailed instruction booklet WITH the appliance. As I read through all of the presets and other wazoo functions this thing apparently has I realize that it's really no different than my convection toaster over in reality. Everyone said get an air fryer, you need an air fryer, you can't live without an air fryer....well I'm here to tell you, an air fryer is apparently a new name and marketing gimmick for a convection toaster oven. I can make a pizza, cookies, meatloaf, wings, bratwurst, hotdogs, fries, everything else except rotisserie chicken. I didn't buy this unit for the rotisserie stuff but I would have liked to have tried it and probably never would have used it after that.
