Degrading quality, bad enough to make me sick
This essential oil makes me sick.
But many positive reviews made me wonder why.
So I did some research on internet.
There are no regulations in the US for essential oils.
And there are very few companies that even match the European standards for oils.
Shockingly, "100% pure" doesn't mean pure all the way.
The term "pure" is used heavily in the essential oil industry.
"100% pure essential oils" are such popular marketing terms that they appear on nearly every essential oil label.
1) Pure essential oils can be diluted by up to 49% by law.
The claim "100% pure" may appear on the bottle label with as little as 51% essential oil! Therefore, "pure" on the label doesn't really mean anything.
2) Pure essential oils can have synthetic chemicals added.
Even if an oil is `pure' in the sense of not being diluted, it may still be adulterated with artificial chemicals to and fragrances.
3) Pure essential oils can have residual solvents.
If harsh chemical solvents, such as hexane, were used to distill the oil, a residual of the solvent will remain in the oil.
I am convinced that my nose was good.
My body must have reacted to some toxins such as chemical fragrances and/or chemical residues
I was fooled by "100% pure" label and learned it the hard way.
I am going from the cheapest to the finest from now on...Mountain Rose Herbs,Native American Naturals, etc.
Following reviews indicate degrading its quality
●Not 100% pure (February 9, 2013) zelalem moges........................x1 rating
The oil is not 100% pure eucalyptus oil. It has some other type of mixture in it.
You can easily tell, once you start to steam it.
●I will never buy it again., (April 5, 2013) Susan R. Langley "Susan" ..................x1 rating
This oil stinks, literally. My kids complained that it made them sicker. I couldn't stand the smell either. We threw it out.
●For professional, this is a Poor Quality Essential Oil (March 24, 2014) Bo Bo Au.......x1 rating
If you are a professional aromatherapist you will notice this is not a good quality.
According to the label it should be 100% pure. Comparing the product I purchased from Europe, I could hardly smell the Eucalyptus with this one. A waste of money.
●Not as good as it use to be, (January 29, 2014) barracuda........................x2 rating
Quality is not the same anymore. Oil evaporates much faster, it smells different. I would not be ordering this product again.
●I wasn't expecting this to be so strong. (April 10, 2014) Nicholas Tomaiuolo ...............x1 rating
I realize eucalyptus should be invigorating but, at the risk of being a tad crude, this smells like used cat litter.I will not purchase this again
