For the past 17 years my husband has been clipping his own hair so he's gone through his fair share of hair clippers in that time. He's always used clippers either from Remington or Wahl and has been pleased with the results, even when using a cheapie set of clippers. We fully expected this Philips Norelco hair clipper to be a hit. Everything about it sounded good. It was cordless, had an adjustible length guard and seemed like an over all good match for him. Seconds into using the clipper my husband determined that it wasn't as good as it seemed. The first thing he noticed was his fully charged clipper lacked power. Worst of all, the clipper didn't cut evenly. So it left tracks or 80's style stripes as he clipped his hair. So once he was done testing out this clipper he had to break out his Wahl balding clippers and finish the job. The tubro speed on this clipper gets to about 75% of the speed of the Wahl balding clipper so even at it's fastest speed, this clipper is slow. Not cutting evenly is really bad if you're using this clipper to cut your hair. Perhaps the single adjustable clip is to blame for the uneven cutting. Sure you won't have a lot of clips to manage with this clipper but you also won't have consistent results so the single adjusable clip is essentially a fail. The storage case is nothing special. It had a cardboard insert that I think it meant to just be packing material. It's just a hard case where you can put the clipper. It's certainly not a selling point for this clipper. If you want all of your hair cut to the same desired length then I'd advise you to keep looking. The Wahl Balding Clipper is an excellent alternative that gets great results.
