Follow up: I contacted Amazon about the issue, almost immediately I was offered a full refund as well as another bag of dry cat food of my choice. Goes to show that Amazon will take care of any issue. There's potential for Amazon to sell some very bad batches, apparently. I'll try to keep this short, but essentially, the cat food was fine for the majority of the bag. It takes my cat a couple of months to eat his way down the bag. This morning, however, I noticed that there was green MOLD on some of the food bits. Fuzzy, green mold that, at the bottom of the bag, had formed a single large mat that encompassed the entire thing. It was absolutely disgusting, I can't believe my cat has been eating from that bag where mold was THRIVING at the very bottom of it. The food was kept in a closet/pantry, cool and dark. I always kept it sealed, it was not expired (see my attached pictures for details). Of course I took the food up immediately when I noticed this issue and looked around, and threw it away after taking pictures. I will most likely be taking my cat to the vet to see if he's okay; I haven't noticed anything, but still. I should never have bought cat food from Amazon, and I will never again. I have ordered this food in the past with zero issues and my cat likes it. But apparently Hills (the manufacturer) and Amazon allow some pretty major issues to slip through. I will also be contacting Amazon customer service, and I will contact Hills.
