mistakes and sex, too much
Other reviewers have mentioned some of the other mistakes the author has made, but my favorite was this: Kate told Slater (I think that's his name) that 15 years earlier she had seen the murderer they were trying to identify and Slater didn't even ask her what he looked like. " I saw him hanging around, at soccer practice, before school, once at the convenience store. Suddenly he seemed to be everywhere I went, lingering around the fringes of my life. I thought he might be stalking me or something.” (p. 174)..Slater totally ignores it, in one ear and out the other. No composite drawing, no hypnosis, no nothing.
I also did not like the gratuitous and detailed accounts of sexual activity between Slater and Kate. Wasted pages that did nothing to move the story along.
