This product was assembled correctly and used in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area for one week. It was used to filter visually clean water well above the bottom of the lakes and by day 5 became so difficult to pump the housing itself shattered as seen in the photo. Luckily, our group had other options for water treatment. I would never recommend this filter to anyone and I cannot return it to amazon as the return window has passed.
