My first babyliss was purchased from a salon 5 years ago and it recently died, so I went on Amazon to purchase this as a replacement. What a huge disappointment! I typically use the 350 degree heat setting and noticed that it wasn't quite hot enough for this particular iron and it kept pulling at individual strands of my long hair. I went back to re read some reviews and noticed another person had mentioned that the plates on the iron didn't touch so I went back and noticed the very same issue. I will be returning this ASAP. Also, this is my second iron I've tried purchasing off amazon in the past week to replace my trusty old 1.5 inch from the salon, the other one was the 2 inch and I had the same problem with that one as well. These irons are cheaper for a reason! Just spend the extra money and purchase a legit one from a salon or beauty supply store.
