Just Blah
Love this genre but it seems there are many mediocre books jumping on the wagon, and this is one of them. Shannon decides to become a detective to find out who is murdering witches. She is impulsive and not very bright considering she was a DA. I hate the part where after a gorgeous hunk (in her way of thinking) tries to kill her, she still has the hots for him. I mean, WTF is this with domestic violence themes? As long as he's hot than he's okay to either abuse or kill you? If he was ugly she would be scared? I actually knew a domestic violence victim and yes, she actually stayed with her abuser because he was so handsome. Good grief, the MC is as brainless as my acquaintance. In this era of Me Too and domestic abuse why is it still okay to hurt a woman, regardless of appearance, job, or other attributes. Written by a female author no less. For shame. The plot is gruel thin, the curse just gets a brief mention here and there. Not recommended at all.
