I was really excited about these for my toddler but unfortunately the holes are the perfect size for little fingers to get stuck in them and the beads are the perfect size to fit in a toddlers mouth, but difficult for them to spit out. I had to take these away because of these 2 safety issues. Very disappointed that these factors were not taken into account when designing a higher end toddler toy. UPDATE: my daughter was almost 2 when I wrote my initial review. She is now almost 4 and really likes playing with these. She no longer gets them stuck on her fingers or puts them in her mouth. I would not recommend for young toddlers but they are good for preschool age children.
